Waiting For A REAL Hug

Lindsey came over to drop off some drawings that will be used for kids at Fraser to color. She always puts a smile on my face. Today was no different. When she was leaving we said our goodbyes. We gave each other a air hug. She said “I can’t wait until I can have a real hug”. Years ago she didn’t want to be touched. I would ask her if I could hug her. When we learned about autism we were told people with autism don’t like hugs. Autism doesn’t go away but things overtime have changed a lot for Lindsey.
