Lindsey went to Camp Croix. I was trying to be like most other parents. Excited to see her go. I was full of anxiety. I stressed, worried, and anticipated about everything that could happen In one week of camp for someone with autism. It wasn’t a camp for special needs children. We wanted her do try new things. My biggest worry for her was food, and friends. I brought a huge bag of gluten free food. When I picked her up most of it had not been eaten. It wasn’t Lindsey’s favorite week. One good thing that came out of Lindsey not wanting to be different from the other kids at camp, is she learned to eat lettuce and other naturally gluten free food.
